Pocket GSM goes low power

05 January 2005

The Pocket GSM is now capable of operating down to 5 Vdc and has a current draw of just 6 milliamps at 12 Vdc

These changes make the unit suitable for a wide range of applications when a constant source of power is not readily available, such as boat security alarms and intruder alarms. A simple calculation shows that a 54 Amp hour battery (which Powelectrics can supply) will last approximately 12 months, though this does depend on the use of the product.
